Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Eligibility: Freshman Seminars are restricted to first-year students only until the end of second pass appointments. At that point, instructors are given the option of including other students in their seminars. Most restrictions will be lifted, but some sections will remain restricted to freshmen only, or freshmen and sophomores only.  (Note:  If the course is listed as “full,” no other student will be allowed to enroll, regardless of class standing.)

How to Enroll: You can obtain a list of current Freshman Seminars by visiting the Registrar’s course listing page or by visiting the Seminars Offered page and choosing your quarter of interest. The course listing provides the 5-digit CRN, course number, course title, instructor’s name, room location, class meeting day and time, enrollment restrictions, and the number of available seats. Copy the 5-digit CRN for the seminar you have selected and use it to enroll in the course via SISweb, as you would for any other course.
