Exploring Writing and Research in African American and African Studies

Description: Goals are to enhance student writing skills and to provide an introduction to research techniques, thereby, increasing the student's confidence in their ability to do library research and to write a well thought out and well written research paper.

Format: The seminar will meet for one hour and 20 minutes each Wednesday at noon to include weekly lectures, library research, a discussion of the topic for the day and relevant reading assignments. There is no text for the course. Students will prepare a 4-5 page research paper and present an oral presentation on their topic. Grading: Grading plan not yet available.
