Instructor: Gregory Clink, Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, College of Letter and Science
Description: The subject matters addresses different strategies that are employed, both offensively and defensively, in the game of basketball. We will explore a variety of different offensive and defensive strategy. We will also learn how to break down an opponent through the use of film and learn different techniques for preparing scouting reports.
Format: The seminar will meet for two hours each week for ten weeks. The time will be divided between lectures, presentations, discussion, and student presentations. Film and reading materials will be provided. There is no text for the course. Grading: Students will be required to prepare a scouting report on an assigned team and then expected to present it to the class. Their grade will be based on attendance, the quality of their scouting report, and the quality of their presentation.
About the Instructor: Greg Clink is the Associate Head Men’s Basketball coach at UC Davis. He also serves as an instructor in the Physical Education Department. Clink served as an assistant basketball coach at UC Santa Barbara and Chico State University as well as a Head Coach at Gavilan College.
